Hello
We are Hawlings Property Group.
We are experts in Planning Permission. We also own and operate a laser measurement company and we like to design and install joinery.
Hawlings Property Group was set up in 2016 following ten years in the private property market. We felt that there was a space for a an outcome-led, client focused organisation that cuts through needlessly complicated processes. We specialise in planning and joinery work. We offer a bespoke response to making positive change to properties in the UK.
We pride ourselves on our ability to provide value for money. We endeavour to supply practical advice and property improvement that is honest, straightforward and (crucially) jargon free.
What we believe in
Positive change, beautiful design, dynamic practicality, real affordability. Having a place to call home.
Quality of finish
Timely delivery
Value for money
Sustainability & Stakeholder impact
Minimising negative environmental impact
Safety & cleanliness
Neil Wates MSc BA has worked in Property for 15 years. Prior to that, he was on building sites as a labourer and stonemason’s apprentice whilst on holiday from school and university. His focus is Planning Permission and Project Management, firstly with a firm of RICS Chartered Surveyors and latterly as Managing Director of Hawlings. Neil holds degrees from Durham and London South Bank Universities. A lifelong student of the built environment, he has an MSc in Building Surveying.
He is a former Chairman and Trustee of both The Wates Foundation (a grant making charitable trust) and Access4 (a charity committed to the alleviation of social violence in East Africa). He founded Friendship Adventure, a craft brewery (which was subsequently sold and rebranded). He lives in Esher with his family and a dog called Martha who occasionally can be found on site with him.
LinkedIn is hideous but you can find his page here.
Neil’s website is here.
It’s weird writing this in the third person.
